With summer forcing itself upon us, this might be the right time to enjoy some watermelon like it´s 1997, while giving his 2010 and 2011 mixtapes another spin.

icecold beer and
some Bossa.
Duke Hugh Radio: irregular, unmixed, semi random selections from my favourite sounds.
Episode #1: Low-key Brazilian gems. Songs that don’t necessarily get a crowd moving but that will unquestionably lift the spirits.
A perfect soundtrack to the tropical weather brought to us by Otto and a appropriate warm-up for this weekend’s Berlin Carneval Madness. This cries for a WEBOSSA jam in the near future..
Listen to the show here or below (embedded player doesn’t function in Firefox) and make sure to give Duke’s bandcamp a thorough listen…he has some serious Brazillian vibes going on .. SWANG.

This morning Terri Walker joined Rinse FM selector Brackles to perform some tracks of Brackles’ debut album part of the “Rinse presents” series, which is a seriously bumpy affair. Funky rhythms and bubbly basses layered with catchy vocals and smooth synths make for what most likely will be a significant part of this summer’s swangin’ soundtrack (alongside Scratcha DVA´s latest)…perfectly exemplified by the track below called “Never Coming Down” feat. Lily McKenzie. Bracka Bracka.

Meet Alby Daniels: yet another twenty-something London wonder kid. His entirely self-produced and performed soultronicpieces have been circulating around the webwaves for a minute. Especially his 2-steppy rendition of Amy Whinehouse´ “Stronger Than Me” (also featured in this great mix) and the smokey title track of the “This Dawn EP” keep haunting a swanger. There something about his vibe you can´t really put your finger on..but leaves one pushing that play button over and over again..

If Dam-Funk is the Ambassador, Krystal Klear would be the European representative of Modern Boogie Vibes. Obviously, we like him. His own tracks draw from 80´s disco, 90´s House, R&B, New Jack Swing and Boogie funk and his dj-sets go all over the place and through the roof. Here´s his latest Radio 1 mix for the mighty Benji B including some new heat.
